Breathwork

MY JOURNEY

The power of the breath

During my 3 years living in South America, I had profound experiences with plant medicine and other healing traditions, both spiritual and somatic, but the main ally throughout my journey and beyond became my very own breath.

I learned that this marvellous innate intelligence can help me clear out what I no longer need, regulate my nervous system state in real time, and give me access to parts of my subconscious and emotional world that were otherwise off limits.

I trained in guiding somatic breathwork journeys, which combine ancient wisdom and modern science of breathing, and later on I also got certified in functional breathing, which helps me stay balanced and focused in the everyday.

WORDS OF WISDOM

What has to be taught first, is the breath

The breath is the essence of life — a powerful, ancient force that connects body, mind, and spirit. From the first gasp of air at birth to the final exhale, breathing is both an unconscious act and a gateway to profound transformation. Across history, cultures have revered the breath as sacred, recognizing its potential not just to sustain life, but to elevate it.

TESTIMONIALS

What people say about working with me

“I’d recommend Lis’s breathwork to anyone who feels like they have a lot on their plate, feels overwhelmed, or that they need to reset their system in some way! Lis combines a joyful lightness and deep sincerity in her work and in her being, which makes the session and how she holds it feel nourishing and safe.”

Ocean Kiani
Program & Community Manager

“The session helped me see myself and how I move through the world from a new perspective. It caused me to realize how I need to grow to become the type of person that I know I can be and more importantly, want to be.”

Alex Broderick-Forster
Events Marketing Director

“As someone completely new to breathwork, I was surprised at the efficacy of this modality. It got me right into my body and gave me access to parts of my subconscious and emotional world that I didn’t expect. I am excited to keep using breathwork to deepen my ‘somatic literacy’ and emotional fluidity work.”

What is it?

Feeling what you need to feel and moving what needs to move through you.

Somatic or soma means “living wholeness”; the Greeks knew that we are one being and that, in order to live a good life, we need to hold space for and develop both body, mind and spirit.

Somatic breathwork is a healing modality that works directly with the body’s own wisdom to bring you back into alignment with yourself. Using a circular connected breathing pattern, it is designed to facilitate the full expression of emotions, the release of suppressed tension and stress in the body, and then to allow you to deeply relax, access elevated emotions and embody full presence.

“I went to the top of the mountain, shedding everything holding me back along the way, then I got to enjoy the view and see life more clearly than ever before, and finally I came home to myself and felt in my body how I can walk through the world with more joy and gratitude”.

Can be individual, couples or group journey.

FUNCTIONAL BREATHING PROGRAM

What is it?

Building the foundation for a healthy, active life.

Breathing is the only process in the human body that is both involuntary and voluntary. Just because breathing can be automatic, however, doesn’t mean it’s optimal. Most of us breathe too fast, too much and too shallow, not properly engaging our primary breathing muscle, the diaphragm. We also, crucially, breathe too much through our mouths, which not only bypasses the many advantages of breathing through the nose but also contributes to or exacerbates a host of health problems in and of itself.

Functional breathing is compromised in today’s day and age, due to sedentary lifestyles, increased stress levels and other adverse environmental conditions. As such, healthy functional breathing is something many of us need to re-learn.

Whether you suffer from asthma, rhinitis, snoring, sleep apnea, shortness of breath, back and neck pain, high blood pressure or stress, a functional breathing program may help alleviate your symptoms as well as improve your clarity, concentration and general well-being.
